Windsor County Agricultural Fair to Close
The Board of Directors of the Windsor County Agricultural Fair regrets to announce that the fair will be dissolved. 2013 would have marked the 40th year that the “Best Little Fair in Vermont” was held at Barlow’s Field on historic Eureka Road in Springfield.
Unfortunately interest in the fair has been waning over the years. Each year we have had fewer superintendents handling more and more activities. Additionally the number of visitors at the gate has dwindled. Last year in 2012 we tried a number of new ideas to attract more people but unfortunately the efforts didn’t reward us as we had hoped.
Thank you for your past support of Windsor County’s agricultural heritage. We sincerely appreciate your participation over the years.
This webpage will be kept open as will our Facebook page as places to remember the fair over the years.

2012 Fair Dedication
Donna Jean “D.J.” Fusonie![]() For many years Donna Jean “D.J.” Fusonie (Mar 3, 1945—Dec 29, 2011) loved volunteering at the “Best Little Fair.” D.J. was always willing to help out where ever needed and for as long as it took. For D.J. the coming together each year of so many dedicated volunteers made this festive event a successful and memorable experience. The many animals large and small always left D.J. with a wonderful feeling inside. And she left all of us with that same feeling.
Alexander Greer, Jr.![]() Alex Greer (June 17, 1940—Jan 13, 2012) was the owner and operator of Hi-Lo Farm and loved working with draft horses. He brought that love to the fair as he served as both President and Vice-President over the years. He was also the long-time superintendent of the Draft Horse Farm Competition. Drafts were the joy of Alex’s life and he was a member of several draft horse organizations as well as the past Team Master at Billings Farm in Woodstock. Alex gave a lot to our community. He and his lovely Percheron horses provided many fairgoers wagon rides and he will be sorely missed
